Presented by Overley Chapter 1951

Description

The Award for the DeMolay Month Award is the Galloping Gavel which was presented to the State Association by Overlea Chapter Order of DeMolay in 1951.  The gavel is over 4 feet tall and is made of solid wood and weighs approximately 15lbs.  The Gavel also comes with a protective bag for carrying made of dark blue satin.

This award is given annually to the chapter that has the best DeMolay Month Program during March of each year.

Runs from March 1st to March 31st of each year.  See Rules here.

The winning chapter chosen by the committee as having the best DeMolay Month program will receive the Galloping Gavel DeMolay Month Award to display in your chapter for one year.

The Galloping Gavel used to be an award that was traded between chapters for bringing the most members and/or traveling the greatest distance when visiting another chapter.
